Students will create a digital story about one of the body systems we have studied over the past few months (ie. circulatory system, digestive system, etc.) that explains the function of that system, and also how it interacts with one of the other systems we learned about.

Digital Story Grading Rubric Total Possible Points 20

 

Story Board (3 Points Possible)

  • Story Board is a logical sequence and allows for the viewer to easily follow the story line. It includes graphics, script outline, and other creation notes. (3)

  • The story board has most of the required framework. It does not have quality graphics or outlines. (2)

  • The story board is either missing or has substantial flaws. (0-1)

 

Quality of Production (10 Points Possible)

  • The video quality is above average. There is an introduction and conclusion. Transitions flow naturally. Images are not distorted. A wide variety of graphics are used. Audio/Narration/Music is used in a productive manner and does not distract the viewer. (7-10)

  • The video quality is average. Transitions exist. Images are acceptable. A variety of graphics are used. Audio/Narration/Music is used in a productive manner and does not distract the viewer.(3-6)

  • The video quality is poor. The choice of audio, video, or images is distracting for the viewer. (0-2)

 

Originality/Enhancing Instruction (4 Points Possible)

  • The video is original in nature. It shows that the producer thought about how the project will enhance their students’ knowledge of a subject or achievement of standards. (4)

  • The video is productive in enhancing student achievement, but lack an original approach. (2-3)

  • The video is not productive in assisting student achievement. (0-1)

 

Citation (3 Points Possible)

  • Credit/Citation given to ALL sources of material that was used. (3)

  • Anything other than full citation (0-2)
